Here are some useful links to frame drums learning resources.

- I wrote two Tar techniques tutorials and two Bodhran tutorials in spanish since there's almost nothing in this language for someone interested in learning frame drums - they are published at batacas.com. They are also available on his site:
- Tihai formula resolver: in The Tihai Ending And Arithmtic Series by Rachel W. Hall there is a simple formula to calculate the length of the gaps to introduce in your tihai once you have the phrase you will repeat 3 times in the tihai itself. I wrote a simple script to resolve the formula using consecutive intents, each time increasing the gaps legth.
Try the Tihai formula Resolver script.
More information about tihai can be found at http://www.chandrakantha.com/tablasite/articles/cad3.htm - Tihai (en español): una explicación del concepto de tihai con algunos ejemplos.
- Indian musicians (including percussionists) use to practice using a lahara machine, which is a simple electronict stuff reproducing melodies in different Taals (rhythms) indefinitely. You can consider it a melodic metronome. I found using a lahara to practice on frame drums very useful. Of course it's easy to create your own laharas using a melodic instrument (I used a kalimba for example) to record simple melodies you can then loop on different speeds. Below there are some sample laharas (MP3 format) in different taals recorded from an electronic lahara machine. Try them to practice.
